Ruach Photography Book

Growing up, I imagined God towering over me in silence, angry and disappointed. Constantly fearful of His reprimand, the relationship became too exhausting to sustain. I had an inaccurate and distorted depiction of His character.
However, instead of turning my back, I began seeking to truly know Him, not through the voices of others but through His own words. I realized He wasn’t who I should have been running from, but who I should be running to for comfort and refuge.
This newfound understanding ignited a desire to share the peace I discovered. I find reflections of God’s character all throughout His creation in nature. Consider the Hebrew word "Ruach," meaning both "wind", “breath” and "spirit." The unseen breeze that fills our lungs, invigorates us, and calms our anxieties becomes a tangible reminder of His presence and the peace He provides.
Scriptures like Exodus 34:6 ("slow to anger") and Matthew 11:29 ("gentle and lowly") revealed a God who desires closeness, not condemnation. Unlike people who may turn away from us, He embraces us – selfish, angry, broken. He invites us to lay down our burdens, finding solace in His presence.
This book is an invitation to slow down and experience the transformative rest He offers through a collaboration between His words, creation and my photography.
